Signs Your Dog Could Be
Telling You Something
Dogs cannot tell us when something is off. But they show us. If any of the following sounds familiar, it may be worth taking a closer look at what is in the bowl.
Chronic itching, hot spots, or recurring ear infections
Skin and ear issues that keep coming back despite treatment are one of the most common signs of a food-related sensitivity. Many dogs improve significantly when common allergens found in processed kibble are removed from their diet.
Inconsistent or poor stool quality
Loose stools, excessive gas, or unpredictable digestion can point to ingredients your dog is struggling to process. Fresh food is highly digestible, which often means a noticeable improvement within the first few weeks.
Low energy or a dull, dry coat
A coat that lacks shine and a dog that seems flat or tired despite being otherwise healthy can reflect a gap in nutritional quality. The difference a nutrient-dense, whole-food diet makes is often visible within 30 to 60 days.
Picky eating or disinterest in meals

Yes. Our recipes are developed using established principles of canine nutrition and are continuously reviewed and refined in collaboration with a certified veterinarian and animal nutrition specialist. We ensure every bowl is both delicious and nutritionally sound.
Doug's Kitchen Dog Food is prepared in small batches for your dog. Our fresh, gently cooked food uses whole foods, and minimally processed ingredients. With Doug's Kitchen, what you see is what your dog gets. It requires refrigeration or freezing to stay fresh as it is made with NO PRESERVATIVES.
It depends on your dog's needs.
Most families find this comparable to or less than what they spend on vet bills and supplements for dogs on processed food.

We recommend a gradual transition over 7–10 days - starting by mixing a small portion of Doug's Kitchen with your current food and slowly increasing the ratio. We'll walk you through the full transition guide when you place your first order. Many families also start with Doug's Kitchen as a topper before making the full switch.
